New Canaan High School was the place to be for a musical event that many say was the most exciting the town has ever seen “An Evening with Paul and Harry” featured fabulous performances by music legends Paul Simon and Harry Connick, Jr., who are also New Canaan residents. And it was cohosted by Brian Williams of NBC Nightly News and his daughter Allison Williams, a star of the HBO series Girls. Conceived by Brian Williams, the sold-out event was a benefit for Staying Put and it honored the town's first responders: Police and Fire departments, the Volunteer Ambulance Corp. and the Community Emergency Response Team. “Concertgoers around the world have lined up to see Paul Simon and Harry Connick Jr., but never at the same time, under one roof,” said Williams. Show proceeds will be used to build the Staying Put long-term investment fund. Staying Put is the home-grown New Canaan nonprofit organization that helps seniors remain safe, connected, healthy and in charge while living in their own homes.
