Town Trio Honored

New Canaan Community Foundation

Thanks to the support of some 240 guests, the New Canaan Community Foundation raised $40,000 at its Spirit of New Canaan luncheon. All seats in the Country Club of New Canaan were filled at the event, and those who gathered energetically applauded the work of three local honorees: Wendy Hilboldt, Hazel Hobbs and Bob Witt. “In their unassuming and effective ways, these volunteers have changed our community for the better,” says Cynthia Gorey, executive director of NCCF. “They took action when they saw a need, playing important roles in critical organizations such as the Food Pantry, the Board of Education and the Getabout, among others. Collectively, Wendy, Hazel and Bob have had a profound impact on the lives of many residents and they serve as role models for all of us.” NCCF has been serving the needs of the town and the surrounding areas for thirty-five years. The organization has contributed approximately $7 million in grants to a variety of nonprofit organizations.
