Stepping Up
Stepping Stones Museum
U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal was among the 350 guests at the Kaleidoscope Ball, a gala to benefit the Open Arms initiative at Stepping Stones Museum. Guests gathered at the Norwalk-based museum to celebrate and support the work it does in the community. The event, complete with a marching band that led guests to their dinner tables, raised nearly $500,000. The Open Arms initiative makes it possible for children, families and schools to enjoy the museum experience regardless of financial and language barriers. During the gala, the museum also honored the recipients of its 2012 Stepping Up for Children awards: Dr. Myron Genel, professor emeritus and senior research scientist in pediatrics at Yale University School for Medicine; Norwalk Community College President David L. Levinson; and GE Capital, the Norwalk-based financial services company. The awards recognize those who demonstrate a commitment to enriching the lives of children and families
