The Mikey Czech Foundation's first annual Match Point for Mikey was a blast for children and adults alike. The event, which took place on June 9, included a men’s and women’s doubles tennis tournament at Woodway Country Club, New Canaan Country Club, Darien Country Club and the Lake Club, as well as a kids play day at St. Luke’s School. The kids enjoyed tennis, carnival activities and scoops of ice cream while the adults played hard. After the tournament, the adult players enjoyed a delicious lunch and awards ceremony. Match Point for Mikey honored the memory of Mikey Czech who died four years ago at age 11 from an aggressive pediatric brain tumor. Mikey loved tennis and had a generous spirit.  He loved to help others and make them happy. The Mikey Czech Foundation raises money for pediatric brain tumor research. Sponsors included the Bank of New Canaan, Baskin Robbins, Nike and USTA, among others.
